Uploading files
Open the Files surface for a team and add files in one of two ways.1
Open Files
Go to the team’s Content and choose Files.
2
Upload
Click Upload, or drag files straight onto the list. A progress indicator shows each upload.
3
Confirm
New files land in the current folder. Click a file to open its detail view.
Uploads are limited to 10MB per file and 25 files per upload — sized to stay within the NetSuite File Cabinet. Larger files are rejected.
Organizing with folders
Documents and Files share the same folder tree per team, filtered by kind, so a folder may appear in Files but not Documents depending on what it holds.- New folder — create a folder and name it.
- Move — drag a file onto a folder, or use Move from its menu and pick a Destination folder (or Top level). Multi-select with checkboxes to move several at once.
- Navigate — click a folder to open it; breadcrumbs update.
- Rename / Delete — from the folder’s menu.
Finding files
Use the search box, switch between List view and Grid view, and sort by Name, Size, or Created.Previewing files
Open a file to see its detail view. Supported types render inline; everything else shows a download card.- Previews inline
- Download only
- Images — rendered directly.
- PDFs — paged preview.
- Text & code — shown with formatting.
- Markdown — rendered.
- HTML — shown in a sandboxed preview. A file flagged as a live dashboard gets a Reload button that re-runs its data through Erstan.
- Spreadsheets / workbooks — tabular preview.
There is no separate OCR or extraction screen here. To let an agent read a file’s contents, turn on Agent knowledge — the file is embedded so agents can search it.
Editing a text-based file
You can edit text-like files in the browser without re-uploading.1
Open the file
Open an editable file and choose Edit from its menu (⋯).
2
Make changes
The file opens in an in-app code editor dialog.
3
Save
Save to write your changes back to the file.
Only text-like files can be edited in place. Binary and Office files show “This file type cannot be edited” — download, change, and re-upload them instead.
File actions
Every file’s ⋯ menu (on the list row or the detail header) offers:Ask AI about a file
