Playbooks are job-to-be-done recipes for common finance and operations work — the kind of thing you do every week in NetSuite. Each one shows the example prompts, the ready-made agents, and the approval steps to get a real result, grounded in your own NetSuite data.

Three ways to run a playbook

Every playbook can be run in whichever way fits the moment. The work is the same; only the starting point differs.

Just ask in Chat

Type the example prompt straight into Chat and let Erstan find, analyze, and draft for you. Best for one-off questions and exploring.

Install a ready-made agent

Add a purpose-built Agent from the Marketplace (for example an AR collections assistant) so the steps and skills are already set up.

Build your own agent

Turn a recurring playbook into an Agent you run on a schedule or from a form, with the exact instructions and tools your team needs.
Chat and agents both need a connected AI provider, and acting on NetSuite needs the NetSuite connector. See Connect an LLM provider and Connecting NetSuite if you have not set those up yet.

The playbooks

Accounts receivable & collections

Find overdue invoices, understand customer balances, build an AR aging view, and draft collections outreach.

Accounts payable

Triage vendor bills, flag exceptions and possible duplicates, and prep payment runs for review.

Reporting with SuiteQL

Ask Erstan to query NetSuite with read-only SuiteQL and turn the results into a document or workbook.

How playbooks map to Marketplace desks

The Marketplace groups ready-made agents and skills into business-area desks. Each playbook lines up with one or more desks, so you can find a matching agent fast.
Open the Marketplace and pick a desk card — or filter by the NetSuite “Works with” chip — to see the agents and skills available for that area of work.

What every playbook shares

1

Start grounded in your data

Erstan reads your connected NetSuite account, so results reflect real invoices, bills, and balances — not generic examples.
2

Let the agent do the work

The agent runs read-only queries, analyzes the results, and drafts the output (a summary, an email, a document, or a workbook).
3

Review before anything changes

Any action that writes back to NetSuite pauses for your approval first. You see a preview, then choose Run action or Don’t run.
Playbooks that create or update NetSuite records — sending a customer email, posting a write-off, or scheduling a payment — are write actions. By default they pause for approval before they run. Review the change before approving, and use Auto-approve writes only for low-risk, read-heavy work.
